What TV shows are on the Too Pop to Handle watch list this winter!?

When I was in high school, I was a huge TV person. I watched just about every Real Housewives franchise, never missed an episode of Glee, and don’t even get me started on the batshit crazy content TLC was churning out (Jon & Kate Plus 8 and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, I’m looking at you). Somewhere between starting college and losing my mom, with whom I watched most of these shows, I completely fell off my TV game. I didn’t realize how much I missed watching “my shows” until I started watching RuPaul’s Drag Race and Schitt’s Creek in 2020.

All of that being said, I’ve decided to make these Watch Lists a recurring series because I think it’s a fun way to connect with my subscribers if we’re watching the same show(s) and can offer recommendations to anyone looking for something new to watch.

Returning Shows

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 (MTV, premieres January 3rd)

• Start your engine, and may the best drag queen win! Drag Race is truly a highlight of my year, no matter how good or bad the season is. I will always find joy in watching queer art get celebrated in such a mainstream way, the way RPDR does.
  
  Season 16 was one of my favorite seasons, and I’m still reeling over (spoiler alert) Nymphia winning after declaring her the winner as soon as she walked into the Werk Room, but this new group of girls looks like they’re going to bring it this season, so I’m very ready. From first impressions alone, my favorites are Lana Ja’Rae (I have to support a NY girl + have you seen her??? Stun), Kori King (I just know her confessionals are going to be top tier), and Crystal Envy (did someone say face card?).

The Traitors US, Season 3 (Peacock, premieres January 9)

• After last season being some of the best reality TV I’ve ever seen, I am extremely seated for this season of The Traitors. As if Allan Cumming narrating this show wasn’t enough, the cast is absolutely stacked - Bob the Drag Queen, Chrishell Stause, Gabby Windey, Dorinda Medley, Dolores Catania, etc. Needless to say, I cannot wait for this season.

White Lotus Season 3 (HBO Max, premieres February 16)

• I’ve been WAITING for this one. Another show that is coming off an incredible season, I can’t wait to see what trouble these hotel guests get into in Thailand.
