What I'm Watching this Fall
There are few things better than when your favorite TV show comes back for another season. Here's what I'm tuning back into this fall and what I'm adding to my "Must Watch" list
It’s the most wonderful time of the year to be a TV girl and gay. Aside from the obviously exciting things that come with the fall months (pumpkin-flavored things, sweater weather, etc), there’s also an influx of television shows that come back or begin airing once the weather starts to cool down. Here’s what I’m tuning back into this fall 2024 season and what’s on my list of new shows to start (we’ll see if I actually start them).
Returning Shows
Abbott Elementary Season 4 (ABC/Hulu, airs October 9th)
There’s a reason I’m putting this first and it’s because if you take any word of advice from me, it’s watch Abbott Elementary. Nothing brings me more joy than Barbra Howard’s incredible one-liners, Ava’s complete lack of self-awareness, and don’t even get me started on the Janine and Gregory storyline. I’m pretty sure all of Manhattan heard me scream during the season 3 season finale.
Only Murders in the Building Season 4 (Tuesdays on Hulu)
I just adore this show. From the writing to the costumes to the on-screen chemistry between Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short, the list goes on. They do such a great job of keeping you on the edge of your seat with the murder mystery part of the show while balancing the lighthearted humor and relationships between the characters. Eva Longoria and Eugene Levy joining the cast is just a bonus this season.
Selling Sunset Season 8 (Netflix, full season available now)
I mean who doesn’t love a reality show, right? These ladies consistently bring the drama, and the fashion (both good and bad), and maybe you’ll get some real estate every 3 to 4 episodes (probably not though). It’s quick and easy brain rot, and I’ll never get tired of it. My boyfriend and I “accidentally” watched all 11 episodes in one day…which is the same thing that happened with season 7. Hear my thoughts on the season here!
Jersey Shore Family Vacation Season 8 (MTV, premieres September 19th)
Keep your comments to yourself - these people raised me and yes, we watch every single week. I’ll never get tired of Snooki and Deena’s meatball problems or JWOWW and Angelina continuing to pretend like they’ll be friends one way when we all know that’s never going to happen (we all remember where we were when we heard “you can stay and get your ass beat, or you can stay and get your ass beat).
Real Housewives of New York City Season 15 (but really Season 2) (Bravo, premieres October 1st)
Controversial to some and maybe I’m biased because I just love New York City so damn much, but I love this reboot. Is it as juicy or dramatic as Bethenny Frankel VS Jill Zarin? Of course not, but why do we need to see that again? I’ll never get tired of seeing Jenna Lyon’s fabulous life and Brynn Whitfield being an absolute icon. I’m also very excited to see what newcomers Racquel Chevremont and Rebecca Minkoff bring to the Big Apple.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 (Bravo, premieres September 18th)
After an absolutely insane season 4 finale, I cannot wait to see what these ladies are bringing to the table this season.
Dancing with the Stars (ABC & Disney+, premieres September 17th)
I go through phases with this show, the last time I watched was when Vinny Guadagnino, Charli D'Amelio, and Gabby Windey were in the Ballroom but I’m very intrigued to see what Tori Spelling, Anna Delvey, and my queen Phaedra Parks bring to season 33
New Shows on My List
Chimp Crazy (HBO Max)
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (Hulu)
The Perfect Couple (Netflix)
House of Villains (Peacock, October 1st)
English Teacher (FX/Hulu)
What are you watching this fall!? Let’s talk TV in the comments 👀📺
Loved the Perfect Couple, the plot was far fetched but the acting was great, shows where you can see the cast is having fun making it are terrific. I of course will be reading the book. Do you watch Love Island? Once mom and I saw it appearing it everywhere including a mention in a British mystery we watched three episodes and had enough!
