In a shocking turn of events, we have new Rihanna music…kind of. I often joke that if Rihanna never released music again, I would be content with the discography she’s given us but this past Friday she dropped “Friend of Mine” from her new movie “The Smurfs” - you can watch my live reaction to it here if you’re curious what I thought.
Lorde summer is in full swing here in NYC, despite a truly horrific ticket sale for her tour earlier this week (plz sell me your Lorde MSG tickets…). Despite not getting tickets, I still had to pose for the photo opp on the Lower East Side.
This week on the podcast we chatted about the ongoing Cyrus family drama, Charli xcx dropping the ‘party 4 u’ music video 5 years after the song’s release, Lizzo’s private TikTok and did some sleuthing on what Taylor Swift might be doing at the AMA’s this year.

JADE announces debut album ‘That’s Showbiz Baby’
One of my most anticipated album releases of 2025 FINALLY has a name and release date.
Jade Thirlwall, formerly a member of the incredibly under-appreciated girl group ‘Little Mix’, has been releasing banger after banger for almost a year and now we finally have a release date and title for the album: That’s Showbiz Baby!
Earlier this week she announced that her debut album will be released on September 12th along with a headline tour in Europe to support it. The album will feature all five singles she’s released in the last few months such as Angel Of My Dreams and IT girl, plus nine new tracks that I’m sure will be bops.
Are Taylor Swift and Blake Lively still friends?
I swore off the Blake Lively VS Justin Baldoni drama on the podcast months ago, but I never said I wouldn’t talk about it in the newsletter. This saga feels never-ending and with a trial date set for March 2026, the end is nowhere near, however, this week Taylor Swift entered the chat so my ears are up. After Justin Baldoni’s camp subpoenaed Taylor Swift, claiming that Blake was extorting support from her and threatened to release private text messages between the two of them if she didn’t show her support.
Whether or not Blake threatened Taylor with releasing text messages, I’m not sure, however, I am sure that the two have been visibly distant in the last few months when they would otherwise be connected at the hip supporting each other (Super Bowl, It Ends With Us premiere, Time 100 Gala, etc…) - something is definitely weird. Knowing how private Taylor is, part of me isn’t surprised that they haven’t been seen together, but on the other hand, if the two of them are as close as we know them to be, why hasn’t there been any white smoke on their friendship!? I think the real tell on where they stand will be when reputation (Taylor’s Version) drops and whether or not Blake and Ryan’s daughter, James, is still used in the intro or not.
Justin Bieber allegedly owes Scooter Braun $8 million!?
Justin, Justin, Justin…what is going on….
You would think I was a teenage girl in the year 2009 the way I’ve had Justin Bieber on my mind lately. Between his bizarre behavior at Coachella a few weeks ago, Hailey posting a photo without him on Easter, and his brow-raising social media behavior, something’s up with the Biebs and this week the plot thickened. According to reports from TMZ, Justin owes his old manager Scooter Braun (gross) $8.8M due to the cancellation of his 2022 “Justice” World Tour. YIKES.
When he sold his music catalog for $200M in 2022, I thought it was way too early for him to be giving up the rights to his music, but the more I learn about his financial situation, it makes a lot more sense. Thinking of how fast Justin Bieber came into his money at such a young age, I can’t say I’m surprised that he wasn’t always the smartest when it came to money, however, shouldn’t he have had a team around him advising him what to do with his money!? Add the Justin Bieber tell-all documentary to my “List of Content I Can’t-Wait For”.
