My My My! What a WEEKEND I have had. I’m currently in Denver waiting for my flight home to NYC while trying to come down from seeing the SWEAT Tour last night (I told you guys I would get there one way or another). I literally cannot get over this show you guys, prepare to hear me gush over Charli and Troye on this week’s podcast episode.
I hope you’re all having a fabulous weekend! If you didn’t catch this week’s podcast episode, here’s a TLDR on what you missed:
Bravo is developing a reality show centered around the Kansas City Chiefs WAGs, 86 Taylor and Brittany (no shock there)
Luke Bryan is saying Beyoncé should “come into the country world” a bit (as if she hasn’t been trying for years)
But for everyone who did do their homework and listened, here are some extra moments from the week that were too pop to handle:
Halsey gears up for “The Great Impersonator” release by impersonating icons
If you’ve been here for a while, you know how excited I am for Halsey’s upcoming sixth studio album ‘The Great Impersonator’. I got an early listen of the album last month and cannot wait for the album to finally come out next Friday, October 25th.
The album has a little bit of everything, drawing inspo from the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000’s, and Halsey’s been giving us a look at which icon inspired which track(s) this week in the funnest way. Last Monday, Halsey took to her social channels to say that she’d be counting down to the album by impersonating some of the greats and needless to say, I’m eating it up.
The countdown to The Great Impersonator begins. From now till the album drops on October 25th, I will be impersonating a different icon every day and teasing a snippet of the song they inspired
THE GREAT IMPERSONATOR #1: the queen DOLLY PARTON !!!!!! TRACK 9: HOMETOWN
I mean, come on. How much fun is this? Here’s a few of my other favorites she’s shared:
Kate Bush: Track 10 - I Never Loved You
Cher: Track 4 - Letter to God
I’ve been saying how flawless this album rollout has been since the start, but it somehow keeps getting better. I am beyond seated for this album.
Beyoncé’s attorney presses Piers Morgan for Diddy Comparisons on ‘Uncensored’ Show
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind in the BeyHive. Between Bey getting snubbed at the CMA’s and the P. D*ddy tie-in allegations, Mrs. Knowles-Carter seems to be completely unbothered as she promotes Sir Davis and shows support to Mama Tina at the Glamour Women of the Year event this week. Though Bey has been out and about living her life, her attorney is hard at work and on Piers Morgan and Jaguar Wright’s ass.
Alexander Spiro, who represents Beyoncé and Jay-Z, was interviewed by TMZ this week and is putting his foot down on his client’s behalf.
“There’s rumors and then there’s nonsense and this is one step further. This is a pointed and formal accusation of something. I felt they needed to be responded to. I think somebody reported it was a cease and desist. It was quite bluntly an ultimatum which is, remove that false accusation that’s demonstrably false or a court’s going to order you to.”
This interview comes after Wright continued to allude to Beyoncé and Jay-Z being heavily involved in the hot mess express that is the P. D*ddy case during an episode of Uncensored with Piers Morgan. Piers has since issued an apology stating “we had lawyers contact us to say that those claims were totally false and have no basis in fact, and we’ve therefore complied with a legal request to cut them from the original interview.”
While there’s still a lot of investigating and uncovering to be done in this case, I think anyone who’s using their platform to heighten accusations and not sticking to facts in a case this massive has their priorities a bit mixed up. Anyway….
Are we getting a major music release on October 18th!?
When it comes to new music in 2024, my cup runneth over. We have truly been fed more this year than we ever have, and for that, I’m grateful. But with two and a half more months left in the year, what else is in store!?
This past week Joe Jonas and Shawn Mendes both pushed their October 18th album release dates and it’s making everyone (including myself) raise an eyebrow over why they both decided 10/18 suddenly didn’t work for them. Now of course, this could just be a coincidence, and we’re all getting our clown makeup on for nothing (very likely, actually), but it’s more fun to speculate and theorize about what could be coming that would make them move their albums.
Taylor Swift: Swifties will take any opportunity to come up with the most insane theories possible around a surprise Taylor drop, specifically with reputation (Taylor’s Version). Taylor is set to kick off the final leg of the Eras Tour this Friday, October 18th, in Miami, Florida, which is leading fans to think that maybe, just maybe, she’ll celebrate the final leg with the re-record. As much as I would love for this theory to be true, I think Taylor’s done releasing music for 2024 and is saving the final two re-records and TS13 for 2025.
Harry Styles: Now this is one that I could actually see coming to fruition. It’s been. almost three years (May 2022) since Harry’s House came out which means us Harry girls are begging for anything from Mr. Styles. There has been tons of speculation on when he’s dropping the lead single for HS4 and this coming Friday does seem to be the perfect opportunity.
Lady Gaga: We already know that Gaga is gearing up for an October lead single launch ahead of LG7 next spring, but we haven’t gotten a release date yet. While I do think a surprise drop would be a lot of fun from Gaga, I think she’s someone who puts way more thought and effort into an album era and would want to have some sort of lead-up to the single instead of just surprise-dropping it.
