Met Gala 2025 Exhibition Theme will be "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style"
The first Monday in May is approaching rapidly, and we got a look into what the exhibition at the 2025 Met Gala will be this week - Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. In a YouTube video uploaded to The Met’s channel, head curator of the Anna Wintour Costume Center, Andrew Bolton, is joined by Monica Miller, author of "Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity” to introduce the upcoming Spring 2025 exhibition. We also learned that Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour will Co-Chair the 2025 Met Gala, with LeBron James joining as an Honorary Chair. Though we know the theme of the exhibition, the official dress code for the event has yet to be announced.

*Beyoncé voice* “Somebody’s getting fired.” Olivia Rodrigo is nearing the end of her GUTS World Tour and seems to be ending it with a bang. During her last of four shows at the Rod Laver Arena, she took a nasty fall through the trap door that opened a tad bit too early. Alexa, play ‘hope ur ok’ by Olivia Rodrigo because that looked painful.

Megan thee Stallion to release documentary "In Her Words"
The H Town Hottie is giving us a behind-the-scenes look into her life in her upcoming documentary “In Her Words”. The doc will premiere on October 31st, or as Megan calls it “Hottieween”, on Prime Video and will give take fans “on the road to stardom as she tenaciously navigates fame, grief, pressure, and success. The documentary unpacks Megan’s most vulnerable moments in a powerful way that allows fans to meet the real Megan Pete.” As someone who thinks Megan is just the bees knees, I am extremely seated for this release.
Rolling Stone teases Musicians on Musicians 2024 list
Rolling Stone’s ‘Musicians on Musicians’ series is back with some big names. They shared a teaser on Instagram last week with seven interviews lined up, one of which was blurred out (which we have now learned is Bruce Springsteen + Zach Bryan).
I personally am counting down the days for Reneé Rapp + Cynthia Erivo, but that’s just me.
Ariana Grande Hosts SNL, pulls record-breaking views
I guess the hate train everyone was riding for Ariana Grande wasn’t as serious as we all thought (shocker). The pop star absolutely nailed her guest host appearance on the sketch comedy show this past Saturday bringing in 5.57 million views, the shows highest viewed episode since 2021. ICYMI, I gave a ranking of the 7 skits we saw her in earlier this week here on Substack and gave my thoughts on her monologue on the podcast this week (spoiler: I loved it).
Wicked Movie becomes 2nd biggest same-day pre-sale movie of 2024
On the topic of Ms. Grande’s hate train miracuously disappearing (I didn’t forget who called her a homewrecker earlier this year), her and Cynthia Erivos highly anticipated Wicked Movie pulled in Fandangos 2nd biggest same-day pre-sale movie tickets of 2024.
Taylor Swift donates $5M to Feeding America, gears up to kick off Eras Tour in Miami
Taylor Swift is giving back to those affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton with a hefty $5M donation to Feeding America.
She also stepped out with Killa Trav multiple times in NYC this weekend, grabbing a bite with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively at The Corner Store on Friday night, a date night just the two of them at Torrissi on Saturday, and then cheering on the Yankees Monday night. The Eras Tour kicks back off this Friday in Miami for it’s final leg, so I’m thrilled to see these two spending some quality time together before she’s back in her touring era.
To wrap things up, Taylor has announced that she’ll be releasing an official ‘The Eras Tour Book’ as well as finally giving us physical copies (CD + vinyl) of ‘The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology’ exclusively at Target this Black Friday.
