Kylie's Disney Princess Era, Charli xcx is getting brattier, and Sabrina Carpenter doesn't sleep | Popping In, Vol. 5
Poppin' that.
Not only is this the first newsletter of October, but it’s also volume 5, which is my lucky number, so let’s cheers to that.
I’ve been having so much here on Substack this last month and have so many fun things I want to write for you guys. I’m toying around with some ideas for paid content (don’t worry, Popping In will always be free) and brainstorming some potential bonus podcast episodes, album reviews, gift guides, just so many ideas inside this brain of mine that I can’t wait to share. ANYWAY…
In case you haven’t listened to this week’s Too Pop to Handle, here’s a quick TLDR on what you missed:
Ariana Grande is speaking out about her relationship with Ethan Slater
Lana Del Rey married an alligator tour guide
Sabrina Carpenter got Eric Adams indicted
Crumbl Cookies Sydney pop-up crumbled
Full episode below!
But if you’re thirsty for some more pop culture moments that were just too pop to handle, you’ve come to the right place.
Kylie Jenner closes the Coperni Fashion Show in Disneyland Paris
Making her Paris Fashion Week debut, Kylie Jenner’s bringing it to the runway. Wearing a gorgeous black dress paired with matching opera gloves, Ms. Jenner served as the grand finale of the show which took place in a not-so-typical setting for a fashion show - Disneyland Paris!
She shared a carousel from the night to her Instagram with the caption reading:
ONCE UPON A TIME.. thank you @sebastienmeyer & @arnaud_vaillant i can’t even express how grateful i am to you two and this fairytale night i will never forget. 🥹🥹🥹🫂 felt like a real life princess. 👸🏻 @coperni
I mean, come on…this is literally a scene from a live action Disney Princess movie. Also, can we discuss how c*nt she looks walking down the runway? I’m obsessed.
Charli xcx teases upcoming Brat Remix features with billboards around the globe
The Brat era has been nothing short of iconic, and Charli is just continuing to build upon this moment she’s having. Earlier this week Brat Green billboards began popping up in cities around the world teasing collaborations on the upcoming ‘Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat’.

The billboards were seen popping up in locations relevant to the artists featured (Tinashe in Pasadena where she grew up, Bon Iver in Wisconsin where the band operates, etc.)
Not only is this a genius way to market the upcoming album by sending fans on a scavenger around their city, but it’s very reminiscent of the legendary Brat Wall in Brooklyn where Charli famously did a pop-up DJ set on a random weeknight afternoon. Yes, your unemployed friend was probably there.
As excited as I am for this album as a whole, the most exciting billboard of them all (besides Lorde, of course) has got to be the one that popped up in Boca Raton.
I’ve never been more excited to see news about Florida in my life. VERY excited for whatever these two have in store, especially knowing how hard Charli fuuuuuucks with Ariana’s music.
‘Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat’ drops this Friday, October 11th.
Sabrina Carpenter’s on the cover of TIME100 Next and you’re not
I need some of the “me, espresso” Sabrina’s having because she seems to not be slowing down anytime soon (thank god). TIME100 Next highlights the world’s most influential rising stars, featuring stars like Victoria Monét, Reneé Rapp, Cole Escola, and more each with a tribue written about them by past TIME100 alumni and other leaders.
Following their recent Spotify exclusive duet of ‘What a Girl Wants’, Sabrina’s tribute was written by icon herself, Christina Aguilera.
While she is at the tender age of 25, I realize our symbolic, full-circle connection, as my own debut album turns 25 this same year, which brings me a sense of not only celebration but also reflection. As exciting generations of pop princesses continue to emerge, I feel adoration and protectiveness, knowing the journey at hand and ahead.
I will always celebrate women supporting women and seeing Christina’s love and admiration for Sabrina is exactly what a girl wants, what a girl needs (don’t worry, I hate me too).
And that’s what you missed on Glee.
Hope you’re all having a fabulous weekend, I’ll chat with you all on the pod on Wednesday! 💖
