9 Halloween Costume Ideas for Pop Culture Girls and Gays (with Amazon Links)
If October snuck up on you like it did for me, you're probably scrambling for Halloween costume ideas. Don't sweat, I've got you covered.
The great Lindsay Lohan once said "In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it...” so let’s get slutty.
Pop Girls
There’s no denying 2024 is the year of the pop girl. Whether you were having a Brat Summer or sipping your me Espresso, there’s a pop star for you to dress as this Halloween.
Charli xcx (360 Music Video)
I don’t think anyone could have predicted the mass takeover Charli xcx’s ‘Brat’ has had on the culture, but when she dropped the 360 music video with every it girl under the sun I knew this was going to be shift. Spill a little red wine on your tank and get ready to be thee 365 Party Girl at all of your Halloween activities.
Shoes: She wears a simple black heel with this look, probably something you have in your closet already. If not, think this
P.S: the wine glass prop is a little pricey for a one-night-use. You could totally get a plastic wine glass from the Dollar Store and paint the inside red to give a very similar effect.
Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina’s success this year has been nothing short of sweet, so who wouldn’t want to pay homage to her this Halloween!? This isn’t an exact look worn by Ms. Espresso, but it captures the essence of her Polly Pocket persona.
Chappell Roan, Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess Album Cover
The gal on everyone’s lips and playlist this year - Chappell Roan. We’re going to be seeing a ton of Chappell costumes this Halloween and honestly, I couldn’t be more excited. Chappell prides herself in being very crafty with her “drag” and I think that’s what makes it so exciting. It’s not perfect, but it’s got character.
Beyoncé, Cowboy Carter
Saddle up, we’re getting country! Beyoncé announcing she’s dropping a country album during this year’s Super Bowl was such a strong way to start 2024. This costume is loosely based off one of her looks from the Cowboy Carter photoshoot with a tie-in from the album cover to really seal the deal.
Movies + TV
So music and pop stars aren’t your thing, I get it. Here’s a list of some classic costumes from our screens that will make everyone say “that’s hot”
Regina George
Everyone’s favorite Mean Girl is turning 20 this year so what better way to celebrate this monumental movie than with a fetch Halloween costume? Grab your scissors, cut out two circles in the chest, and shake up your party like Regina did North Shore High.
Paris Hilton
With The Simple Life coming back and the release of her latest album ‘Infinite Icon’, Paris Hilton is always a hot choice for a Halloween costume. The best part about this? You’ll be comfy all night long sporting your hot pink velour jumpsuit. That’s hot.
Phone (this is literally lip gloss and a prop all in one…a dream):
Tinkerbell (RIP 😢)
Couple Costumes
Glinda + Elphaba
With Wicked Part One coming out just 23 days after Halloween (eep!!), this one seems like a no-brainer. Now of course you could -o for the licensed costumes or even opt for a generic witch costume and call it day, but why not have some fun with it!? After all, pink goes good with green.

Elphaba:
Taylor Swift / Travis Kelce
Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, and you and your mans Halloween costume. This one is honestly a little too easy but will still let everyone at the party know you’re in your Lover era.
Taylor
Travis
David / Patrick
My favorite TV couple of all time, I couldn’t do a couples costume section and NOT include these two. Another super easy costume that any Schitt’s Creek fan will immediately recognize.
David
Patrick
A pop culture connoisseur, playlist curator, a podcast host, social media genius, a writer and now a STYLIST?! What can’t you do?! These are so cute. I am planning my own version of Paris hehe.
Great costume ideas! I love the Wizard of Oz and Wicked, I have read all the books more than once so I might have to go as Elphaba. Did that as a kid, complete with a water pail that said "candy not water please". Now maybe the year to resurect the character again. Of course I could just go as myself, Karen from Mean Girls, the movie that trashed my name forever 😡! Oh well, feel guilty giving it to much thought with the High Holidays starting tomorrow, I will decide after they are over. Shana Tova!
