Katy and Orlando have split, Anna Wintour is stepping down, and Justin Bieber is still losing his mind.
Is anyone else having a hard time grasping the fact that July is in three days? Just me? Okay, sick. I hope everyone had a happy and safe Pride month! As I type this, I’m spinning my Mayhem vinyl in anticipation of going to 3 Dollar Bill for Mayhem Pride tonight. My Pride weekend festivities actually kicked off yesterday when I showed up to my work Pride event and was greeted by none other than Plasma from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16 - what a fab surprise!? After that, I headed to Town Hall NYC for another RPDR S16 queen, and if you know me, you know she’s one of my favorites: Nymphia Wind! Thank you again to Town Hall for having me last night, the show was fabulous!
Pride feels a little different this year with everything going on politically, but I’m so excited to get out there with the gays this weekend and remind everyone that we’re not going anywhere.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom call it quits after 9 years
I feel like Katy Perry just can’t catch a break. After 9 years, it’s been reported that she and Orlando Bloom have separated. There haven’t been any statements made by either of them, and it appears that Orlando was in Australia with Katy and their daughter, Daisy, while she’s there for her tour dates (before jet-setting off to Jeff Bezos’ wedding), but after fans noticed they stopped interacting with each other online months ago, PEOPLE has now confirmed. Unfortunately, I immediately get flashbacks to the California Dreams Tour when Russell Brand called off their marriage minutes before she went on stage.
Seeing as they were never married and they’re clearly still around each other, hopefully, the split isn’t too ugly from a legal standpoint, but after the year that Katy’s had being the butt of the joke in the music industry (not to me!!), I hope she’s taking care of herself through this all.
Anna Wintour is stepping down as editor-in-chief of Vogue after 37 years
Yes, you read that right. After 37 years, Anna Wintour is stepping down from her role as editor-in-chief of Vogue. Wild. It was beginning to feel like she was going to die before giving up this position, but she’s got other plans at Condé Nast. Her new title will be chief content officer for Condé Nast while also serving as Vogue's global editorial director. In simple terms, she’s still going to be doing most of the same work (she’ll never let go of the Met Gala), but focusing more on what’s next for Vogue and Condé. In addition to finding someone to fill the E-I-C title, they’re also creating a head of editorial content position to help divvy up the work and restructure who does what within US Vogue so Anna can focus on more global projects. Just like us gays during Pride under the Tr*mp administration, you can’t get rid of Anna.
Justin Bieber changes his Instagram handle to lilbieber
Ay, ay, ay. With the amount that I’ve been hearing about Justin Bieber over the last few months, you would think it was 2009 and he was getting threatened with arrest if he stepped foot in the Roosevelt Field Mall (real ones know). After countless moments of strange behavior at Coachella, exposing himself as being an unsupportive husband, and “standing on business” to the paparazzi, he’s now changed his Instagram handle to “lilbieber”. Why? Who knows. In the least parasocial way possible, I worry about this man and his mental state more and more each day - and I was never even a Belieber. Do we think he’s launching a rap career? Is he handing over his account to Mr. Lil Bieber himself, Jack? The world may never know.
